10,000 STEPS TO SEXINESS!


My new motto right now is “10,000 steps to sexiness baby!”

As I’ve posted time and again in Plurk, I bought a pedometer and I’m so psyched right now I could walk where ever!!

A pedometer is not a measure of how much you like kids silly! It’s a thing that counts steps – like a step counter! Although I would direct you to this site if you must insist on the former.

My pedometer (I love saying this word.) is an Omron HJ-109. Aside from counting your steps, the gadget also counts how far you’ve walked and how many calories you have burned. And for P900, it’s a good buy I think. Although I bet I could get it for less back in the Philippines.

I read from somewhere (yeah I’m too lazy to quote sources, sry) that all you need for a fitter, healthier life is 10,000 steps a day! In this here site, it is explained much further how you can benefit from walking 10,000 steps a day.

What a daisy! I just need 10,000 steps?! I didn’t know it was that easy!

Or so I thought. I never thought that for me to achieve 10,000 steps per day, I need to walk at least eight kilometers. Yes people, eight grueling kilometers. Let me clarify this for you:

  • If a basketball court is 28m in length, you will need to walk past 285 basketball courts to reach eight kilometers.
  • The entire length of Ayala Avenue is 1.9kms. Imagine Ayala Avenue four times longer!
  • Commonwealth Avenue is 12.4kms. Imagine walking two thirds its length.
  • Roxas Boulevard is 11kms long from Asia world City from Paranaque City to Rizal Park. Imagine walking from Asia world up to Aristocrat, Malate, Manila!
  • Lastly, Coastal road (Cavite to Manila Expressway) is only 6.6kms and you have to pay P22 for toll fee. You’d walk past the expressway just to walk eight kilometers!

Right now, I’m walking an average of 10,300 steps a day. That’s more than eight kilometers. My legs hurt, my feet are calloused beyond recognition and two out of my 10 toe nails are DEAD!

And do you want to know what the clincher is?

I haven’t lost weight.

For the life of me, I do not know what I have to do to lose weight. I’m not eating as much as I did back in Manila. Heck, I’ve forgotten the oh so sweet taste of beer. But I haven’t lost weight.

I have an idea taken from the kung fu masters (Goku and Piccolo). I will add weights to my legs and arms! In that way, I would have to exert more energy and will be able to leap tall buildings in a single bound when I am finished!

I’ll let you know what happens when I do that. ..

    You walk miles and miles there! Wonder how many steps you take to get to the grocery from your house? You should get one!
